Kingdom Hearts III is an action role-playing game developed and published by Square Enix for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. It is the twelfth installment in the Kingdom Hearts series, a sequel to Kingdom Hearts II, and the final chapter in the Dark Seeker saga. Set after the events of Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance, returning protagonist Sora is joined by Donald Duck, Goofy, King Mickey and Riku in their search for the seven Guardians of Light and the "Key to Return Hearts" as they attempt to thwart the restored Xehanort's plan to bring about a second Keyblade War. Their journey has them cross paths with characters and visit worlds based on different Disney and Pixar intellectual properties.
I always thought that Kingdom Hearts games are for kids, I MEAN COME ON! YOU SEE MICKY, GOOFY AND DONALD IN IT 🤔, But surprisingly after playing all other “Main Games” in Kingdom Hearts series, i ( not weirdly ) got into it. Mainly due to confusing and weird story it has so i was in day 1 for Kingdom Hearts IIIand was i happy with KH3 or disappointed on it. Well, Here is my Rapid-Fire Review on “ Kingdom Hearts III:
Pros:
- Story:
The Story of Kingdom hearts is very confusing and that's the beauty of it, Kingdom Hearts III has the same ( hard-to-understand ) story to follow through and a lot of people might Complain that the story of keyblade is convoluted and difficult to follow but for me that's the fun of KH3.
- The Combat:
The bulk of Kingdom Hearts 3's gameplay, however, is in its sword-swinging, magic-conjuring combat, which feels fast, frenetic, and spectacular in its cinematic flourishes. Its combat mechanics are an evolution of Kingdom Hearts 2's, which themselves have been tweaked and refined in the various spin-off titles. The most noticeable change is in its fluidity; Sora moves between enemies quickly, delivering a barrage of attacks, seamlessly transitioning into casting Fira to set enemies ablaze or Cura to recover health. There's a pleasing forward momentum to all the battles, as you zip around dispatching enemies in quick succession. ( Gamespot )
- Characters:
The Characters you love from previous games makes a return and the new once, you really easily felt in love with them cause of a “ Friendship “ they have, “ Friendship “ is the strong point of holding all the characters together cause if that was missing in “ Kingdom Heart III ” than you might not love the characters in it and it would have been disappointing ( And GODDAMN, Sora and Axel is so sexy for some reason in this ).
- Gummi Ship ( * ): Gummi ship is back and it's fun and improved in almost every aspect. You can now customize the ship to your own liking and fight other ships or farm materials used to craft stuff. It was fun for me to play around in it before going into a new world BUT it later it got something that i got sad of it
Cons:
- SHUT UP GOOFY: Now while i do have to give credit to the developers as they each now and then remind you what the story is about in “Kingdom Hearts III” by either goofy telling that this happened OR other character ( as this is a long franchise ), I kind of felt disappointed that the fun of the story of Kingdom Hearts is the confusing you get and twist and turns in it. I just wish that they did not reminded about what happened in KH3 and let players discover it. ( It's not a huge issue but i had to mention it )
- New Mechanic “ Attractions “: Let's quickly talk about a new mechanic called “ Attractions “ and why i did not like it. It's a new combat mechanic where you summon Disney rides in the game to fight off enemies and i felt like it was only used to sell-out their Disney Rides in “ Disneyland “ which i felt was too much, its powerful and this makes ties into the “ TOO EASY “ section i will talk about now.
- TOO EASY: While even tho i did took a brave decision to start it on “ Proud Mode “, The game felt too easy for me and i died like only around 5 times. The reason might be the change in combat from KH2 OR getting amibilities too easy and quick but it felt easy and i just hope we soon get the “ Critical mode “ soon and hopefully it's difficult like it was and is in “ Kingdom Hearts 2 “.
- ( * ): Gummi Ship, when i first got into it i was having a lot of fun in it BUT it got boring really fast ( around and 1 hour and a half for me ) and it is due to repeating stuff over and over again. The fights are the same only gets a little difficult each time and i just after squeezing the fun out of it I simply ignore it and only went to the next world.

FINAL VERDICT:
7 / 10 ( GREAT )
“ WAIT FOR SALE “
Kingdom Hearts III is a must to buy for those who are hardcore fan of the kingdom heart series but for a caully gamer it is recommended to either play the old games to get the know what is going on in the story or watch the movies of them to get the full enjoyment of Kingdom Hearts III, cause if not than you might still enjoy it but will feel lost and might get bored of it very soon.
Game is available to get on Playstation Store as well as on Xbox Game Store for $59.99
